Venture Further Awards 2022

Entrepreneurial students and recent graduates from across The University of Manchester took part in the Masood Entrepreneurship Centre’s annual business start-up competition and applied to win a slice of the Venture Further 2022 £75,000 prize fund to turn their innovative business ideas into reality.

Our Awards shortlist includes five categories: Environment, Healthcare, Services, Social, and Technology. Ideas range from initiatives that tackle sustainability and the reduction of carbon emissions in the construction industry using advanced technology to those, which challenge data privacy and sharing issues in the form of an ethical data framework.

We also have wonderful social enterprise ideas, which address social issues such as fostering inclusivity through sport and tackling diversity in the workplace.

In a bid to show that they have a viable business start-up with a credible implementation plan, finalists were invited to pitch their idea to a panel of judges consisting of senior staff from The University of Manchester, distinguished alumni, competition partners, and a selection of industry experts.

Winners and runners-up will be announced on Wednesday 4 May at the annual celebratory event. The announcement of the winners will also be streamed online.
