From April 1 2010, the Centre will ready to start loaning its resources again.
All lenders will have to complete new membership forms and provide proofs of identification to be eligible to take any resources away from the Centre on loan.
Students and staff from The University of Manchester
You will be asked to complete a membership form with full contact details and show your student ID.
Other individuals
You will be asked to complete a membership with full contact details and provide two additional proofs of address, eg utilities bills, bank statements. These must be less than three months old.
Schools and organisations
If you are loaning on behalf of a school, you will also need to provide evidence that you work for, or volunteer for, that school. You will also need to get your form countersigned by one of your colleagues.
You will need a PDF reader such as Adobe Acrobat (downloadable from Adobe ) to view PDF files. PDF files open in a new window.
All individuals
You can borrow two items for a maximum of two days. Items can be renewed once for an additional one-day loan.
Schools
You can borrow 20 items for a maximum of 21 days. Items can be renewed once for an additional seven-day loan.
Other organisations
You can borrow 15 items for a maximum of 14 days. Items can be renewed once for an additional seven-day loan.
The Centre will contact you to remind you about the items you have. If you fail to respond to us or agree a date to return the items, we will provide you with an invoice to cover the costs of replacing the items and the University finance department will contact you regarding your payment.
If you lose your items, you will be asked to replace them. You can purchase replacement copies yourself and drop them into the Centre, but they must be of the same edition/version. Older editions will not be accepted. Alternatively, you will be invoiced for the cost of a replacement copy.
If you have any questions or would like to discuss our loans policy with a member of staff, please call us on 0161 275 2920.
