Screenwriter Andrew Davies joins Martin Amis on stage

Martin Amis, Professor of Creative Writing at the Centre for New Writing at The University of Manchester is to discuss the impact of Literature on Film with author and screenwriter Andrew Davies on Monday 11 October.
Amis has worked on screenplays, including Mars Attacks and Saturn 9, the latter becoming the subject of his classic novel Money, which was recently dramatised for the BBC.
His screenplay of Northanger Abbey, excerpted in a recent Granta, remains in development.
Davies has been writing for the screen since 1965 and is well known for his adaptations of classic works of literature, including the 1995 television adaptation of Pride and Prejudice.
Davies has won six BAFTA awards, and two Emmys.
The event will take place at The Martin Harris Centre for Music and Drama starting at 6.30pm.
