REUNITE

Tear Fund harnesses computer intelligence to revolutionise disaster response.

Tear Fund, a relief and development agency, provided valuable knowledge of working in disaster zones, which enabled computer scientists at The University of Manchester to develop a number of software prototypes, including REUNITE, a mobile and web platform to help reunite people separated within refugee camps.

These prototypes utilised mobile and intelligent systems technology to address different aspects of disaster scenarios, including reuniting refugees within refugee camps and an evacuation management system for directing people to safe zones within a disaster area.
