Volunteer for us
Volunteer your time and expertise and help to influence and inspire the next generation of Manchester graduates.
Our volunteers are valuable to us. They are already making a huge contribution towards the experience that our current students enjoy, and you could be part of that team.
How you can help
Whatever your background and expertise, there really is something for everyone.
You might inspire prospective students by writing about the impact your degree has had on your career.
You might help current students by giving a talk about your work or providing feedback on a project, or simply by acting as a point of contact for a student travelling overseas.
Or you might help our students to meet the challenges of an increasingly competitive global job market by providing careers advice, mentoring or even an internship at your place of work.
Whether it's minutes or months, hours or days, on site or remote, the time you give really does matter.
Our alumni volunteering programme is one of the largest in the UK, with nearly 3,000 alumni across the globe giving up their time to benefit students and their local communities.
We also welcome volunteers who are not former students onto our Manchester Gold career mentoring programme. The Careers Service at The University of Manchester has been running successful mentoring programmes since 1998. Mentoring continues to be extremely popular among our students and we are always delighted to welcome new mentors.
