Dalton Cumbrian Facility

The Dalton Cumbrian Facility (DCF) is a state-of-art complex for the University’s Dalton Nuclear Institute, where academia and industry carry out world-leading research and deliver dedicated skills development programmes.

Research focuses on radiation, nuclear engineering decommissioning and management of radioactive waste. Facilities include the ion-beam accelerator hall, which contains extensive irradiation equipment, and an adjoining building containing analytical/inspection laboratories, office accommodation, meeting/seminar rooms and a computer modelling capability.

DCF is situated on the Westlakes Science and Technology Park in West Cumbria.
