The trend for postgraduate study – and the number of available courses – is on the rise. Steering people through the maze of options, the imminent Postgraduate Study Fair is one of the key events of the academic year for any student or graduate considering further study.

The Fair takes place from 10.30am to 4pm on Wednesday 19 November in Central Hall 1 at the back of Manchester Central (The G-MEX Centre.)  Now in its 15th successive year, around 2,000 students and graduates from institutions across the UK are expected to attend, with no charge for entry and Fair Guides available free of charge on the day.

It’s a fantastic chance to gain access to a wealth of information on further study opportunities after a first degree; make contacts with over 90+ universities/higher education institutions and sources of support, and gain essential tips from the experts on applications and how to proceed.

Jane Ratchford, Director of The University of Manchester’s MLP, Careers & Employability Division, which organises the annual event, said: "The Postgraduate Study Fair gives students and graduates from all institutions access to a massive range of exciting opportunities for study and funding, throughout the UK and across the globe."

Over 90 exhibitors include institutions from throughout the UK, and some from overseas – Australia, America, Germany, The Netherlands and Ireland.  Various training organisations and advisory bodies such as The Training & Development Agency for Schools and The US Educational Advisory Service also attend. Informative talks held throughout the day will provide insight on topics including studying overseas, teacher training, coping with life as a postgraduate, and how to finance further study.

If you’re considering further study, The Postgraduate Study Fair at Manchester Central (The G-MEX Centre) is a not-to-be missed opportunity to discover and create exciting opportunities for your future. Visit www.manchester.ac.uk/careers/postgradfair for details.

The Postgraduate Study Fair is sponsored by The Independent.
