Update on Rutherford Building Inquiry

Professor David Coggon will be visiting the University on Wednesday, 30th September to present the findings from the Rutherford Building Inquiry.

He will be accompanied by colleagues from the Health Protection Agency (HPA), who have provided supporting work on radioactivity, and the Health and Safety Laboratory (HSL), who have provided similar advice and support with regard to mercury. 

Professor Coggon will host a meeting from 1pm to 3pm on Wednesday, 30th September for any current and former members of staff, students and their families, who wish to attend. The meeting, which will be held in Lecture Theatre B in University Place, will provide an initial opportunity for questions and comments. 

After the meeting, a copy of his provisional report will be placed on the University website ( to allow further questions and comments (including from people who were unable to attend the meeting).
