For the first time, The University of Manchester is a Silver Supporter of the Manchester International Festival (MIF), which takes place between 2 and 19 July 2015.

Launched in 2007, MIF is the world's first festival of original, new works and special events and takes place biennially, in Manchester. It is an artist-led, commissioning festival, presenting new works from across the spectrum of performing arts, visual arts and popular culture.

Commissions already announced and on sale for 2015 include Damon Albarn, Rufus Norris and Moira Buffini's musical wonder.land inspired by Lewis Carroll's iconic Alice's Adventures in Wonderland, and the collaborative contemporary ballet Tree of Codes, inspired by the book of the same name by Jonathan Safran Froer.
