In December the University recognised the achievements of students on the Manchester Access Programme (MAP) at two celebration evenings in the Whitworth Hall.

Students were presented with a certificate in a traditional graduation ceremony to mark their completion of the programme. These award ceremonies are held annually by the University to recognise the successes of students on the MAP programme.

The evening featured a keynote speech from Richard Cotton, Director of Student Recruitment and International Development and MAP alumni also shared their own experiences on the programme and studying at Manchester.

Jaiesh Lilley, a current MAP student, said: “MAP to me has been an amazing opportunity to experience life as a student and to broaden my experiences. The programme offers unprecedented personal development while providing a brilliant opportunity to make friends, research and meet with academics.”

MAP is an initiative which supports talented students in Greater Manchester from backgrounds currently under-represented in higher education.
