Abstract
For various bizarre reasons Josquin scholarship has overlooked the song Il n'est plaisir and that article by Martin Staehelin that identified it. Assembly of the sources makes it hard to feel confident who composed the song: neither the manuscripts that credit it to Isaac nor the one that gives it to Josquin is entirely reliable for its ascriptions. On the other hand there is a stylistic context for the song among the works of both composers.
