In April 2016 Manchester eScholar was replaced by the University of Manchester’s
new Research Information Management System, Pure. In the autumn the University’s research
outputs will be available to search and browse via a new Research Portal. Until then
the University’s full publication record can be accessed via a
temporary portal and the old eScholar content is available to search and browse via this archive.

Abstract
The paper estimates the impact of Familias en AcciÃÂón, a human development conditional cash transfer programme, on adult labour market outcomes in urban areas in Colombia. Relying on a regression discontinuity design and a large panel dataset, the paper finds significant, largely positive, but heterogeneous programme effects on labour market outcomes. The findings suggest that antipoverty transfers enable a re-allocation of household productive resources among participant households.
