Abstract

Corporate lobbying has become increasingly important in shaping firms' strategic marketing environment, though little attention has been paid to it in the literature Machiavelli offers a good starting point to understanding the importance of influence and information in political processes. Reasons for the growth of lobbying are presented, together with estimates of current levels of activity. Devonport Naval Dockyard is presented as a case study of a successful campaign.
