Recruiting student volunteers

The Volunteering and Awards Team sits within the Access, Student Employability, Success & Development Division at The University of Manchester. We are a team of volunteering professionals that work in partnership with community and not-for-profit organisations to source volunteering for University of Manchester students. We offer enthusiasm, knowledge, skills and support to provide a volunteering support service that aims to meet your organisational needs and support our students to contribute successfully.

If you are a community organisation, charity or not-for-profit organisation wanting to recruit student volunteers, we can help you by:

  • Advertising for volunteers through our Volunteer Hub
  • Hosting volunteer recruitment events including the University's Volunteering and Social Justice Fair
  • Developing and supporting one-off volunteering events and projects, known as Volunteer Days and Volunteer Projects. These are held in collaboration with key community and charity partners.

All of these services are completely FREE.

The University also has a Sports Volunteer Scheme for any organisations specifically looking for students keen to volunteer in a sport related field.

Our Social Responsibility Goal

Social responsibility is one of the University's three strategic goals, alongside world-class research, and outstanding teaching and student experience. See Our future: The University of Manchester’s vision and strategic plan if you would like to find out more.

We are committed to ensuring that the volunteering we offer our students is led by the need of our partner organisations and benefits the wider community.
