Progression and assessment
For the degree of Master of Philosophy (MPhil) you must successfully complete a period of supervised research and training, the results of which show convincing evidence of your capacity to pursue research and scholarship, and which represent original work that is appropriately located within a wider field of knowledge and investigation. You must prepare a thesis of not more than 50,000 words and also satisfy the examiners in an oral examination on the subject of the thesis.
