- A degree in dentistry or a non-clinical subject and preferably two years of working experience. Normally the non-clinical degree will be in a science or social science subject (minimum 2:1 or equivalent GPA) and the individual will be working in some area with a link to oral health.
- The degree held must be from a recognised institution.
- Applicants with other qualifications, research or professional experience will be considered for admission on an individual basis, although they may be required to register for a diploma in the first instance.

- Communication costs for email, internet access and telephone
- The residential course: this is optional and does incur extra costs for the students, including travel and accommodation in Manchester for 1-2 nights

Course fees: For entry in the academic year beginning September 2013, the tuition fees are as follows:
MDPH: 8 units and dissertation; PGDip: 8 units; PGCert: 4 units
The totals given above are estimations based on completion of all elements within the year stated. The unit and dissertation costs are subject to yearly incremental rises and these values will increase next July.
