Dan studied Agricultural Economics at Newcastle University before completing his Master's degree and PhD at Manchester where he has remained apart from spells as a Visiting Fellow at the University of Western Australia in 2002 & 2008.

Dan is an adjunct Associate Professor at UWA.
He is a member of the Editorial Board of the European Review of Agricultural Economics
