Biography

Neil Coe

I have been at the University of Manchester since 2000, after brief stints at the University of British Columbia and the National University of Singapore. I am an economic geographer interested in the uneven geographies created by globalization processes. More specifically, I seek to understand the global production networks in service industries such as retailing, logistics, temporary staffing and film/TV in order to try and broaden our knowledge beyond the globalization of manufacturing activities. These interests are reflected in my teaching on globalization, economic geography and the geographies of labour. I also lead a fieldcourse to Cuba and supervise a large group of PhD students working in my research areas.
