Biography

Originally from Southwark, I have undertaken various roles with Midland Bank, BT and BP Oil before moving into higher education at Cranfield School of Management, the University of Chester and then University of Manchester. During this period I embarked on a part-time degree in Economics and Geography with the Open University.

I joined the MHS Teaching and Learning Office in May 2005 to initially undertake a one year research project to identify cross-Faculty teaching of same subjects and common teaching practices. The post quickly evolved to work on the design, development and delivery of The Manchester Dental Programme over a three year period and then further developed to become the Teaching and Learning Adviser for Undergraduate programmes.

My role is wide ranging and includes QA responsibilities with periodic reviews, continuous monitoring and programme approvals. I service Faculty committees such as UTLC, Student Support, Widening Participation, Employability and the NHS HENW Commissioned Education group, working closely with Faculty Leads. I am also involved with NSS and HESA data analysis. I am a member of a number of University groups such as PSSG, UMSGI, Student Dashboard etc.

I am currently a Governor at Crowton Primary School and able to draw on my educational knowledge and experience as well as contributing to the University’s social responsibility agenda.
