Biography

 

Amel Alghrani is a Research Fellow on the Wellcome project The Human Body—Its Scope, Limits, and Future at the Institute for Science, Ethics, and Innovation, School of Law, University of Manchester. Amel studied law as an undergraduate and went on to qualify as a Barrister in 2003, having been awarded the Yarborough Anderson Benefactors and Scholarship Award. She previously worked in the General Medical Council, but left to pursue her interest in Medical Law. She completed a Master’s degree in Healthcare Ethics & Law (University of Manchester) and a PhD under the supervision of Professors Margaret Brazier and John Harris. Amel previously held a Research Associate post on a AHRC funded project looking at The Impact of the Criminal Process on Health Care Ethics and Practice.
