Biography

After completing the MMus with Philip Grange at Exeter, in 1996 Reeves was appointed Composer Fellow with the Hall Orchestra in Manchester: a fruitful two-year collaboration that resulted in several orchestral works. Further Composition Studies ensued for a PhD at the University of York with Roger Marsh and David Blake and then at the Sibelius Academy on a Finnish Government (CIMO) research scholarship with Paavo Heininen at the Sibelius Academy in Helsinki. Reeves began teaching at the University of Manchester in 2002, where he held an AHRC Fellowship in the Creative Arts from 2004-2007. He was appointed Lecturer in Composition in September 2007.
