I am originally from St Asaph in North Wales and first came to Manchester University in 2008 to study Psychology. I also completed my masters in research psychology here and was delighted to begin my PhD with the School of Pharmacy in 2013. I am passionate about patient safety and my main research area is community pharmacy. I also work as a part-time dispenser in a well known pharmacy, which led me to apply for my PhD. I am interested in understanding the reasons why policies and procedures may be violated in community pharmacy and how a good safety culture can be achieved and maintained. Aside from my PhD I also volunteer as a childline counsellor during my spare time.
2013 - present: Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences
2011 - 2013: Master of Research (MRes) in Psychology - Merit
2008 - 2011: Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Psychology - 2:1
I am a PhD student within the Manchester Pharmacy School and the NIHR Greater Manchester Primary Care Patient Safety Translational Research Centre. I also work as a demonstrator within the school of pharmacy.
