Dr Dalida Agri - personal details
I studied Classics as an undergraduate student at the University Sorbonne-Paris IV, where I also completed a Maitrise and DEA.
I was awarded a PhD at the University of Nottingham for a comparative literary study in the reception of the Roman epic tradition in Flavian epic (Valerius Flaccus' Argonautica, Statius' Thebaid, Silius Italicus' Punica). The study is centred on the question of how the Flavian interplay of ancient emotions and values have shifted representations of heroism towards a non-redemptive view, especially in the context of civil war.
I joined the University of Manchester in January 2015.
