My main research interests include the following:

  • Greek and Roman epic, esp. Flavian epic (Valerius Flaccus, Statius & Silius Italicus)
  • Ancient values (pietas, virtus, fides) and emotions (pudor, furor, dolor)
  • Representations of gender in Latin literature
  • Ancient epic heroism
  • History of ancient ideas
