I joined Politics in September 2003, having previously held academic posts at the London School of Economics (Fellow), the University of Bradford (Lecturer) and the University of Leeds (Associate Lecturer). In 2006/7 (Fall/Spring Term) I was a S.J. Seeger Visiting Research Fellow at Princeton University (2006/7). In 2010 I was a Visiting Fellow at the Macmillan Center of International and Area Studies, Yale University (Spring Term) and a National Bank of Greece Senior Research Fellow at the Hellenic Observatory of the London School of Economics (Summer Term).

I am the Director of the the Manchester Jean Monnet Centre of Excellence (JMCE), the Co-Convenor of the ECPR Standing Group on Southeast Europe and the Co-Editor of the book series on European Policy (Manchester University Press) and Contemporary Greece (Hurst Publishers).
