School of Chemical Engineering and Analytical Science

Our research activities are wide-ranging, reflecting the diversity of modern chemical engineering and measurement science.

The School brings together a number of different disciplines, from chemical engineering to bioscience to chemistry, mathematics and analytical and measurement science. This puts us in a uniquely strong position to work at the interface of and benefit from the synergies between these different disciplines. 

Areas of interest include:

• Measurement science and novel instrumentation
• Bio-catalysis, systems biology and the production of bio-materials and pharmaceuticals
• Process integration for energy efficiency, waste minimisation and sustainability
• Experimental and theoretical studies on new materials and new methods of processing. This research covers both molecular and bulk investigations.
