Biomedical Imaging Institute

The Biomedical Imaging Institute promotes the development and application of advanced imaging methods in biomedical science. It encompasses The University of Manchester's extensive medical imaging facilities situated at the Wolfson Molecular Imaging Centre, the Translational Imaging Unit and at other sites across the University.

Established in 2008, the Institute aims to encourage:

• The use of multi-modal imaging techniques
• The development of new imaging methods
• The integration of pre-clinical and clinical imaging

Members of the Institute have particularly strong expertise in neuro-imaging and cancer imaging, as well as positron emission tomography (PET), and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) methodology and image analysis.
