Dr Fumi Kitagawa - personal details
I joined Manchester Business School in February 2011. I am a member of Manchester Institute of Innovation Research (MIoIR). My areas of research interest include: innovation policy, academic entrepreneurship, university-industry relationships, regional innovation systems, and industry engagement in research training.
Prior to joining MBS, I worked in research at European University Institute in Italy; and University of Bristol in the UK. I also worked as Assistant professor at CIRCLE (Centre for Innovation, Research and Competence in the Learning Economy) at Lund University in Sweden. Prior to that, I worked at the government research institute in Japan, focusing on higher education policy. I was involved in the OECD project studying regional contribution of higher education in South Korea and Canada.
I have PhD in Urban and Regional Studies from the University of Birmingham in England.
