After completing his BA Economics degree at Guildhall University (London, 1990), George obtained his MSc in Economics (1991) and PhD in Economics, (1996) from Queen Mary College, (University of London). George joined the University of Manchester in the academic year 1995/96. George has held visiting positions at Brunel University, (UK, in 2000) and at the University of Athens, (Greece, in 2006).
