Andrew's main area of interest is in HR metrics, confirmatory factor analysis and structural equation modelling. He is current working on:
1) a British Academy-funded study of the work-based effects of the commute. Using multivariate analysis of covariance (MANCOVA) and mean structures analysis, he is interested to discover how different methods of commuting (i.e., car, bus, train, walk, bicycle) are associated with dependent variables such as job satisfaction, energy, stress and work effort.
2) a multi-group statistical analysis of the determinants of job satisfaction across 31 countries using the European Working Conditions (2005) data set.
3) a qualitative study of informal human resource management practices in the tattoo industry.
He is interested in supervising students in the area of applied statistics in HRM.
