Research interests
Professor Chittenden's teaching and research revolves around the financing, financial management, taxation and regulation of SMEs, including raising finance (especially Venture Capital), capital structure decisions, financial management, and the impact of taxation on business owner decisions. I am also interested in the preparation and effectiveness of Impact Assessments and Extended Impact Assessments; compliance costs; international comparative studies of the taxation and regulation of SMEs.
