Her research interests are quite diverse. She is interested in the use of evolutionary explanations and simulation techniques for the study of dynamic economic processes. In this perspective, her work has centred on the socio-economic analysis of technological change with regard to environmental influences on innovation, and strategies for sustainable development. She has also worked on the study of environmental adaptation in business organisations, with a focus on the role of demand oriented environmental policy instruments (eco-labelling schemes in particular) . Another substantial part of her research has focused on the application of the theory of complex adaptive systems for the analysis of the dynamics of knowledge generation in socio-economic systems, specifically markets and the firm.
