Dr Maria Nedeva - personal details
Dr. Nedeva's background is in sociology and the sociology of science and knowledge. Her undergraduate/ MA degree is form the University of Sofia 'Kliment Ohridski', followed by an MSc (Technica Change and Industrial Strategy) and a PhD in Science Studies and Policy from the Victoria University of Manchester. Since 1992 Dr. Nedeva has been with PREST (and now the Manchester Institute of Innovation Research), where she is now Senior Lecturer. Dr. Nedeva is also the Associate Dean for Graduate Education of the Faculty of Humanities.
Dr Nedeva is a member of a number of professional organisations among which the European Sociological Association, INSNA, the European Evaluation Society, and is also a former co-chair of the Sociology of Scieence and Technology Network under the ESA. She is the on the international advisory board of the journal Innovation and has been invited to lecture at UNESCO seminars, at the Royal Dutch Academy of the Sciences and Arts (KNAW) etc.
