Role

I am a Senior Lecturer in Nursing and have responsibilities for teaching, research and administration. I teach undergraduate and postgraduate units of learning, and supervise post graduate research students at Masters and Phd level. I have extensive experience in curriculum development and am interested in research evaluating the impact of education and clinical interventions on patient care quality and safety.

I am currently the School Erasmus Exchange Programme Coordinator; managing the Schools European educational links. Previous admin roles include Quality Assurrance and Enhancement Officer (2002-2005) and School Examinations Officer (1995-1999). I have been a reviewer for Nurse Education Today for 10 years and am on the Journal Editorial Board. I also review for The Journal of Nursing Management and am on the Editorial Board.

Postgraduate Research Supervision

I am supervising 3 Ph.D. students using Case Study to explore patient safety culture, the community matron role and the impact of computerisation on nurses roles. I was Advisor to another student who used Case Study in Educational Research.
