Role

I am a Senior Lecturer with responsibilities for teaching, research and administration. I teach undergraduate and postgraduate units of learning, and supervise post graduate research students at Masters and PhD level. I have extensive experience in curriculum development and am interested in research evaluating the impact of interventions, both clinical and educational, on patient care quality and safety.

I am the School Erasmus Exchange Programme Coordinator; managing the School's European educational links. I Chair the BSc CPD Examination Boards.  Previous admin roles include Quality Assurance and Enhancement Officer (2002-2005) and School Examinations Officer (1995-1999). I have been a reviewer for Nurse Education Today for 15 years and am on the Journal Editorial Board; I also review for The Journal of Nursing Management and am on the Editorial Board. I have acted as Editor for Special Issues on Patient Safety.

I am currently supervising 1 Ph.D. student using Case Study to explore: the implementation of the role of the community matron.
