I have 10 successful PhD supervisions under my belt and am currently supervising 9 students.
Much of my supervision work has been for projects which overlap with my own research interests but I have also supervised in other areas and am always happy to consider a project if a prospective student specifically wants to work with me or thinks that I am the right supervisor for their project.
As head of sociology I was not directly involved in teaching and I am now, post-head, on a period of sabbatical. I am currently in the process of rethinking my teaching portfolio. Watch this space!
Whilst here at Manchester I have taught courses on: introductory social theory; body and society; social movements; methodological/philosophical issues in social research. I also teach short courses/workshops on social network analysis (with colleagues in the Mitchell Centre for Social Network Analysis).
