Research interests

Primary Immunodeficiency Diseases (PID):

  • molecular and cellular basis (specific antibody deficiency, CVID, ALPS, APECED syndrome, HLH)
  • genotype – phenotype correlations
  • development of novel treatments for PID and its complications

Atopic Diseases – particularly atopic dermatitis:

  • genetic basis – importance of cytokine polymorphisms
  • impact of environmental factors–mycobacteria
  • use of tacrolimus in children with severe atopic dermatitis
  • psychological impact on the family
