Biography

Sarah Ashworth is the Faculty of Life Sciences Research Staff Development Officer. Sarah provides personal and professional development support to the 300+ research staff who are employed within FLS, and manages Research Staff Development training.

Sarah trained within the University of Manchester School of Biological Sciences, gaining her PhD in Environmental Microbiology in 2003. From 2003 until joining the Faculty in Nov 2006 Sarah worked within the University of Manchester Careers Service where she was responsible for a regional project concerned with the personal and professional development of early-career researchers.

Sarah is a member of Vitae, the national body supporting the career development of researchers. Sarah sits on the national Research Staff Developmental Advisory Group for Vitae. She is a UK GRADschool qualified trainer and holds a training qualification from the Chartered Institute for Personnel Development (CIPD): the Certificate in Training Practice.
