Biography
Stefan studied Economics and received his Doctor of Philosophy from Purdue University (West Lafayette, Indiana, USA) in 1993. He was assistant professor at the University of Mannheim (Germany), visiting researcher at the London School of Economics, senior economist at the United Bank of Switzerland (Zurich), visiting professor at National University Kiev (Ukraine), and researcher at the Centre for European Economic Research (Mannheim). Until August 2006, he was a Lecturer in Economics at the University of Manchester.
From September 2006 until May 2013, Stefan has been based in Frankfurt, Germany, and has worked in transfer pricing consulting with NERA Economic Consulting, KPMG AG, and Ernst & Young GmbH. From January to November 2012, he has been seconded to KPMG LLP's US transfer pricing practice in Washington, DC, and Chicago, IL. Stefan has advised global multinationals on tax transfer-pricing aspects of international business restructurings, risk pricing, and inter-company financing. His client work regularly includes development of effective economic solutions for transferprice-related problems.
Stefan holds a research fellowship at ICAE, Universidad Complutense de Madrid, Spain.
