In addition to pursuing my own programme of research, I supervise a number of PhD and MPhil students working in various areas of New Testament and Early Christian studies.
Three of my former supervisees have recently defended their PhD theses successfully and earned their doctorates. One of these has seen her thesis published as a scholarly monograph (see Gillian Beattie, Women and Marriage in Paul and His Early Interpreters, JSNTSup 296, London: T & T Clark, 2005).
I welcome enquiries from all qualified students interested in pursuing either PhD or MPhil research in the field of New Testament studies, and I am willing to discuss the possibility of supervising projects involving the interpretation of other early Christian texts, especially the Apostolic Fathers and the Nag Hammadi library.
