Application process for postgraduate study

If you are an international student looking to do postgraduate research or a taught master’s course at The University of Manchester, here’s what you need to begin the application process.

You can find detailed guidance on how to complete and submit your postgraduate application on our master’s and postgraduate research pages.

Closing dates

There is no official closing date for applications for most taught courses and research programmes but we advise you to apply as early as possible.

For programmes which have application closing dates, the closing date will appear in the course details.

Applying for funding

If you would like to apply for funding, you need to know the closing dates for applications of the various funding bodies.

You will often need to hold a provisional offer of a place at the University before you apply for a scholarship, studentship or award and you should apply for these as soon as possible.

Educational advice in your country

In some countries we have a network of educational advisers that are officially recognised by the University. They can assist you with the preparation and submission of your application.
