Cyprus entry requirements
We operate a devolved admissions system and all admissions decisions are made within academic Schools. Admissions staff for individual courses reserve the right to judge the relevance and acceptability of any qualification or subject.
Our admissions staff assess each application holistically and judge whether the content and demand of the qualifications presented will have sufficiently prepared the applicant to progress on to the course they are applying for. Entry requirements will vary from one course to another and compulsory subject requirements may apply. Please refer to the specific entry requirements for your chosen course.
General requirements for undergraduate courses
Students following the Greek Cypriot (Apolyterion) system will normally by made an offer based on Apolyterion with a minimum overall score of 18+ out of 20 plus two A-levels. The Apolyterion on its own or with one A-level may be considered at the discretion of some academic Schools. Additionally, if a student is participating in the Pancyprian exams, some academic schools may consider accepting high grades (usually 18 or 19) in a relevant Pancyprian in place of an A-level.

- A*AA: 19/20 + A*A
- AAA: 19/20 + AA
- AAB: 18/20 + AA
- ABB: 18/20 +AB
For Schools with specific entry requirements, one or both A-levels will be required in named subjects. For example, entry to engineering courses usually requires A-levels in mathematics and physics.
The offer will vary depending on the subject you’re applying for.
General requirements for postgraduate/research courses
Applicants holding a good four-year government-accredited bachelor’s degree with a minimum overall grade of 7.0 out of 10; or a good four-year bachelor’s degree (Ptychio) with a minimum overall grade of B will be considered for entry to taught postgraduate programmes.
Please note that there are additional requirements for the MBA.
Applicants with Masters degrees from strong institutions may be considered for PhD entry.
Postgraduate research degrees are individually supervised. We strongly recommend that prospective applicants make initial enquiries with the potential supervisor or school before submitting a formal application.
A research proposal is required along with your formal application.
English language requirements
All applicants to the University (from the UK and overseas) are required to show evidence of English language proficiency.

Some Schools ask that the appropriate score has been met before you apply for a course, while other departments give conditional offers subject to applicants achieving our general entry requirement level of English Language proficiency before starting the course.
Other entry requirements
Please note that this is generic information only. Faculties and academic Schools have different entry requirements and some qualifications may not be acceptable for certain courses, so it is important to check with the School directly before you apply.
Some courses have additional entry requirements such as previous work experience, submission of written work with the application or previous study of a particular subject.
