Please note: This course is now closed for applications for September 2016. Students can apply for September 2017 entry, or for one of our other MSc courses, such as MSc International Fashion Marketing or MSc Textile Technology (Technical Textiles). Students who achieve a 2.1 UK honours degree, or equivalent, in a business, management or marketing related subject can be considered for MSc International Fashion Marketing. Students who achieve a 2.2 UK Honours degree, or equivalent, in a science, engineering or technology background can be considered for MSc Textile Technology (Technical Textiles).
The programme aims to provide a fundamental understanding of the international fashion retail industry, with knowledge of international fashion retailing processes including innovation, retail marketing, fabric structures and international fashion retailing.
The programme will provide a range of intellectual, practical and transferable skills; experience of research; and a broad knowledge base of international fashion retailing.
When you have completed the courses you should have achieved:
- A detailed understanding of International Fashion Retail.
- Exposure to the current best practices
- Substantial interaction and involvement with experts in this field
- An MSc in International Fashion Retail.
The Course: The complete MSc course is made up of taught course units and a research dissertation project. The taught course units, assessed by a combination of coursework and examination, cover a wide range of industry-relevant subject areas:
- International Fashion Retailing
- Fabric Structures
- Research Methods
Business Process Improvement units
- Innovation Methods- including analysing effective fashion innovation methods
- External Environment - including external opportunity analysis
- Retail Marketing- including Fashion Retail Case study analysis
Your dissertation is a chance to apply what you have learned to a focused five-month research project. Your choice of topic will be determined in consultation with your personal tutor and will develop further skills that can be applied to the real world

For entry in the academic year beginning September 2016, the tuition fees are as follows:
- MSc (full-time)
UK/EU students (per annum): £9,000
International students (per annum): £20,500
The fees quoted above will be fully inclusive for the course tuition, administration and computational costs during your studies.
All fees for entry will be subject to yearly review and incremental rises per annum are also likely over the duration of courses lasting more than a year for UK/EU students (fees are typically fixed for International students, for the course duration at the year of entry). Self-funded international applicants for this course will be required to pay a deposit of £1000 towards their tuition fees before a confirmation of acceptance for studies (CAS) is issued. This deposit will only be refunded if immigration permission is refused. We will notify you about how and when to make this payment.
