This course is developed in close collaboration with practice and academic staff and service users to equip you with exemplary skills and knowledge to work in modern NHS and independent sector. Our innovative curriculum is governed by the Standards for pre-registration nursing education (NMC, 2010) and has an array of unique features.
You will be taught by the UK's leading nursing lecturers, researchers, clinicians, and other experts from the wider faculty, who incorporate the very latest thinking and discoveries into the curriculum.
At the end of your three-year studies, as a sought-after graduate, you will be able to register with NMC and practise as a children's nurse in a wide variety of health care settings in the UK and many other parts of the world.
Children's nurses aim to meet the physical and mental health needs of children and young people from birth right through adolescence and into young adulthood. This is a complex activity that involves supporting parents or carers, siblings and other family members in both hospital and community settings such as the home or school.
You will study the theoretical basis of children's nursing practice together with the behavioural, social and biological sciences as applied to health. We place great emphasis on developing competence in clinical nursing practice combined with evidence-based decision making skills.
Tuition fees for home/EU students commencing their studies in September 2017 will be £9,250, subject to government regulations on fee increases.. Future inflationary increases will be applied to each subsequent year of the course, subject to government regulations on fee increases. Tuition fees for international students will be n/a.
