Course description

This course has been developed to give you the skills you need to register with the General Dental Council as dental therapists or dental hygienists, and helps provide a holistic approach to primary dental care.

You will be trained to undertake a number of clinical procedures, such as periodontal treatment, simple fillings, dental radiographs and the extraction of primary teeth. You will also develop excellent communication skills to motivate and encourage patients to develop good oral health practices.

Tuition fees for home/EU students commencing their studies in September 2017 will be £9,250 per annum. Future inflationary increases will be applied to each subsequent year of the course, subject to government regulations on fee increases. Additional expenses

When on the clinics you will need to wear a tunic, which cost approximately £25 each, black trousers or skirt and black leather duty shoes, close fitting around the toes and heels. When attending community clinics in the Greater Manchester area there will be travel costs attached. There is no discounted parking on campus for students if you have a car.
