Meeting adult learners

There are thousands of mature students at The University of Manchester. Many join networks to meet other adult learners, gaining advice and support from people who share their educational experience.

Manchester University Mature Students Society is a place where mature students can socialise and communicate. The society also aims to change the way in which the University acknowledges mature students. This year they're working on creating regular socials, events, tailored career support and a mature student peer-mentoring scheme.

Smaller local networks of mature students exist in some academic Schools, and have even successfully secured representation on staff-student committees.
