Activities for prospective students

At Manchester we invest in a suite of activities and resources to support and inspire prospective university students and their influencers.

As a parent and supporter of a prospective Manchester student, you may be interested to learn that many of our activities with schools and colleges are open to all prospective post-16 students.

University of Manchester Aspiring Student Society (UMASS)

Post-16 students can sign up individually to UMASS at any time in order to participate in a range of activities designed to enrich their school or college curriculum, and learn about different aspects of university life.

UMASS students receive support through a monthly e-newsletter and dedicated website, featuring information about upcoming events and advice on the university application process.

Discover Days

Year 12 students can attend our Discover Days, which offer an invaluable opportunity to find out more about a particular subject area at university. We run hundreds of different degree courses at Manchester, many of which involve study of disciplines that do not form part of the secondary school curriculum. Discover Days help students get a taste of fresh and exciting areas of study.
