Discover Days

Do you want to find out more about degrees courses that relate to subjects you're interested in? Are you currently in Year 12? Then a Discover Day at Manchester might be the thing for you.

Discover Days at Manchester offer potential applicants the chance to gain real insight into degree programmes they might study at this University. They provide a great opportunity for participants to gain first-hand experience and make informed decisions about their university choices before the start of the UCAS application process.

Discover Days in summer 2012 – Registration now open

Registrations are now being taken for a great programme of Discover Days lined up for summer 2012, including Midwifery, Engineering and Life Sciences. We recommend you register as soon as possible to secure your place.

The days combine subject-overview talks, careers information, a mini-lecture, workshops and a campus tour led by undergraduates from the relevant discipline area, including plenty of time for students to put their own queries to academics and those who already study here.

Participants are given an invaluable opportunity to find out about the unique features of the courses at Manchester they are interested in, as well as what study and life is like at The University of Manchester.

These events will be of most benefit to learners who are seriously considering pursuing the subjects covered at degree level, and who want more in-depth knowledge about what we offer. Discover Days are for learners in Year 12, or other people who are in the process of applying to University through UCAS, who think they might want to apply for a course at Manchester.

We welcome both individual learners who are unaccompanied by teachers and small, teacher-accompanied groups. Everyone who attends will benefit from small group work and plenty of opportunity to talk with existing staff and students, as well as other participants.

Discover Days are  a real chance to meet other people interested in your subjects who are not from your school or college. They also give teachers a detailed insight into how degree courses relating to their subject are taught, and the chance to meet the staff teaching them.
