'English' covers a range of thought-provoking and exciting subjects that can be explored at university.
At The University of Manchester, English-related courses include: English Literature, English Language, Drama, Anglo-Saxon History, Linguistics and American Studies. Different periods are studied, such as Victorian literature, 18th century and post-war texts, and courses include a range of media, including books, poems, drama and film.
Degree courses can also include a combination of subjects, including a range of European, Middle Eastern and Asian languages.
This day will give you a taste of the range of opportunities available within the study of English and of the diverse range of potential career opportunities this will open up to you.
