Ways to visit the University

Parents and carers are very welcome to come along with prospective students and visit the University campus.

Open days

Each year we hold three University-wide undergraduate open days – normally two in June and one in October. They provide an excellent opportunity for students, parents and teachers to find out more about our undergraduate programmes of study, as well as offering potential applicants the opportunity to visit the University and its facilities.

Guided visits

If you are unable to come to one of our open days, you are welcome to visit us throughout the year by attending one of our guided visits. These visits take place on a Wednesday afternoon and are for for individual prospective students and parents.

If your son or daughter has been offered a place at Manchester, or has been invited to attend an interview, you may be invited to attend one of these guided visits by the academic School. Guided visits aim to provide detailed information on the University’s history, its academic record and achievements, and the services and facilities provided for our students.

We also organise guided campus visits for school and college groups.  Further information about our guided visits can be found on the schools and colleges web pages:

Alternatively you can call into the University’s Visitor Centre every weekday between 9am and 5pm to take a self-guided tour of the campus.

University accommodation tours

In addition to the guided visits, we run guided tours of some of our halls of residence on the Fallowfield Campus. They are every Wednesday morning between November and March, and on the first Wednesday of the month between April and October. Tours run from 10.30am until 12pm.
