Vice-Chancellor welcomes Ambani Award recipients

University President and Vice-Chancellor, Professor Dame Nancy Rothwell recently welcomed two recipients of the Ambani Award to the University.

In 2017 Dame Nancy was awarded the UAA-ICT Dhirubhai Ambani Lifetime Achievement Award on a visit to India and requested that the award be used to fund research visits to the University for two PhD students.

Two PhD students from ICT Mumbai are currently completing a three month Visiting Research Studentship funded by the Ambani Award and met with Dame Nancy to discuss their projects.

Radhika Malkar is studying with the School of Chemical Engineering and Analytical Science while Saptarshi Maiti is studying with the School of Materials. Both students are from and will return to India at the end of September.  

The UAA-ICT Dhirubhai Ambani Lifetime Achievement Award is named after Dhirubhai Ambani, the Founder Chairman of Reliance, the UDCT Alumni Association (UAA) and the Industries Ltd, and celebrates the achievements of individuals in the fields of science and technology.
